Dr. Burgess assistant at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto in the Disciple of Oral Pathology and Oral Medicine. She has practiced hospital dentistry for 35 years and is on active staff at Mt. Sinai hospital. She also teaches oral pathology and oral medicine to undergraduate and postgraduate dental students and residents. She previously taught oral pathology to dental hygiene students at Regency Hygiene.

Dr. Siavash Hassanpour, HBSc, DDS., MSC (Perio) FRCD (C)

Dr. Hassanpour is a Board certified periodontist with a practice exclusive to periodontal and implant surgery. His practice, North York Periodontal Centre is located at 1100 Sheppard Avenue East. Dr. Hassanpour is a clinical instructor in the graduate periodontology department at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto. He is currently the past-president of the Toronto Central Dental Society, an executive of the Ontario Society of Periodontology and is a general councilor for the Ontario Dental Association.

PATIENTS, PILLS AND PATHOLGIES, WHY MEDICAL HISTORY CLUES ARE CRITICAL TO GENERAL DENTAL TREATMENT
Amber D. Riley, MS, RDH, FAAFS, FIACME

Ms. Riley is a 1998 graduate of Sinclair College in Dayton, Ohio. She completed her Baccalaureate with Wright State University and Masters at Boston University. In addition to dental hygiene practice in San Diego, California, Amber is a subject matter consultant to over twenty dental boards, and she is a Forensic Dental Consultant for the San Diego County Office of the Medical Examiner. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, Fellow of the International Association of Coroners and Medical Examiners, Member of the California Dental Hygienists’ Association, American Society of Forensic Odontology and an Associate Member of the American Academy for Oral Systemic Health. She lectures internationally covering evidence-based, oral-systemically focused topics for dental professionals, forensic odontology, and the use and misuse of therapeutic and illicit substances.
